Minutes of Pack 616 Parents Planning Meeting

Treasurer’s Report

Spring Recruitment

Concensus was to not do spring recruitment this year. We get far more benefit from fall recruiting, and the additional recruits from the spring don’t appear to justify the effort.

Scout Fair

The fair is April 19. Will need volunteers to help setup Friday night and to man the booth on Saturday. The Pack will offer free tickets as an inducement to volunteers, one per volunteer. Tickets can also be bought through the pack as well. Karen C. will be the point of contact for ticket sales. Gary will send out an email regarding volunteers and tickets.

Pack Service Project

Planned for May 3. Kristi Azadi is coordinating. Plan is to do something w/ the butterfly garden at WSE.

Day Camp

Forms need to be turned into Jane S. by April 11. Den leaders should send reminders to their dens. Note, for each scout attending, a parent must work one shift as a den walker. Den walker training and YPT is required.

Summer Activities

We’ll plan on 3 activities this coming summer. One activity will be broom ball (coordinator TBD). We’ll firm up the other activities at the May parents meeting.

Transition to Next Year

It was agreed that parental involvement will be mandatory in 2008-09. Each family will need to sign up one job during each school year. Gary, Dave, and Carl will develop a list of jobs, and job descriptions if possible, and will aim to have this ready for the April pack meeting. Parents will then be asked to sign up for jobs at that pack meeting. New tiger parents will need to signup in the fall.
