WHAT: Kids vs. Adults Kickball Game with ice cold watermelon served afterward WHEN: Saturday, June 27th 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 PM WHERE: Parkway United Methodist Church (field area bordering Homeward Way)
WHO: Pack 616 members, moms, dads, siblings (if the dog can kick, bring him too!) Class B Pack T-shirts, of course!
WHY: - Scouts participating in three summertime activities are awarded the nifty pin shown below!
- 50% or better participation from the Pack in all three events earns us the National Summertime Pack Award which is a vital component in receiving the Quality Unit Award!

- So, do your stretching exercises, carb up and let’s get ready for some KICKBALL!!!!
Kickball Rules
Kickball – similar to baseball (exceptions) - no lead offs
- no stealing
- no sliding
- no bunting
- five runs or 3 outs switch sides
- throw ball at runner below waist
- tag player, ball in hand, shoulder or below
- one base on an overthrow
Pitcher’s job Roll ball slowly (no bounces)
You can pitch to your own team
Runner’s job - kick ball from behind home plate
- run bases in order, tag each base with foot
- stay in baseline (fielders stay out of baseline)
OUTS - Caught ball on fly – fair or foul
- Three strikes, 4 balls (fouls)
- runner touched by ball
- runner off base
IMPORTANT RULES
Force Out – runner forced to run to base, baseman ball in hand, tags base with foot, runner is out
One base on an overthrow – ball lands foul, past first baseman, runner may advance to one base past the one he was on the way to Tag UP - Fly ball caught: if runner was off base, he must go back and touch the base he was running from (tag up) or be put out at the that base Play STOPS when pitcher has ball in hand in the infield |
